Curbed Chicago: Old School Gold Coast Home Listed for Under $400K

Living in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood doesn’t have to be out of reach for residents on a practical budget. For example, there’s a one bedroom apartment located at 73 E. Elm that’s currently listed at $399,900.

The apartment—which is located on the twelfth floor of a pre-war building—features an original marble fireplace, a wood-paneled library and windows in every room. But even though the one bedroom just makes it into Curbed Chicago’s Under $400K club, association fees will run an additional $1,165 per month. But given the location and age of the building, those fees are common.
